Job Title: Accountant – AP Focused (Temporary)

Location: North Oklahoma City, OK

Duration: Now through end of October

Schedule: Monday – Friday | Full-time | Onsite

Position Summary:

The Accountant I plays a vital role in supporting the Finance Department by executing a variety of internal control activities. Key responsibilities include general ledger monitoring, accounts payable tasks, account reconciliation, journal entry preparation, wire transfers, and contributing to financial reporting and accounting operations.

Essential Responsibilities:

• Process vendor payments, including coding, check distribution, credit card bill processing, employee reimbursements, ACH transactions, and monthly rent wires.
• Prepare reconciliations of assigned asset and liability general ledger accounts and internal deposit accounts.
• Coordinate with internal departments to investigate and resolve reconciling items within designated timeframes.
• Prepare and post journal entries related to internal financial activity.
• Initiate wire and funds transfers for operational and treasury activities.
• Analyze revenue and expense trends on a periodic basis.
• Develop and maintain detailed procedures for assigned tasks.
• Support internal and external audit requests and examinations.
• Provide backup support for financial reporting and accounting duties.
• Adhere to established banking and accounting principles.
• Offer recommendations to improve processes and financial outcomes.
• Interact professionally with internal and external stakeholders.
• Maintain confidentiality and uphold the organization’s policies and standards.
• Uphold attendance and professional appearance expectations.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Minimum of two years of accounting or auditing experience.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Ability to pass a satisfactory credit and criminal background check.

Technical Skills:

• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel
• Ability to navigate accounting systems and perform data entry accurately.
