The department offers BEng (Hons) Product Design and Manufacture (2+2, 4+0), BEng (Hons) Mechanical Engineering (2+2, 4+0) and Aerospace Engineering (2+2, 4+0) programmes which cover very wide ranges of courses such as mechanics, dynamics, kinetics, thermodynamics, energy, fluids, materials, manufacture, ergonomics and design. The department also offers MSc, MRes and PhD programmes. The department has strong links with the corresponding departments in the UK and Malaysia campuses of the University of Nottingham. Its exceptionally close involvement with Chinese and international institutions and industries ensures a high quality teaching and research in the relevant professional fields.About YouWe seek to appoint an assistant professor in product design and manufacture, preferably with the international experience of teaching in a higher education institution.The person appointed will be expected to contribute to teaching and curriculum development for undergraduate and postgraduate programmes and to supervise undergraduate and masters dissertations in the area of product design and manufacture or industrial design. The person appointed will be expected to conduct original research in appropriate fields and play a lead role in collaborative research projects, leading to high quality publications and grant income. The person appointed will also be expected to assist with the administration of the Department of Mechanical, Materials and Manufacturing Engineering and the Faculty of Science and Engineering in general and thus contribute to the Department’s growth in the field of Mechanical Engineering.The person appointed must have a PhD degree in a relevant engineering discipline and excellent communication and presentation skills in English. Experience of supervising PhD and Master students and experience of teaching, tutorial or laboratory work at undergraduate and postgraduate level in an international English-speaking institution are preferable.Your Remuneration, Benefits And SupportThis is a permanent post that you will be offered a fixed term contract initially of 5 years with University of Nottingham Ningbo China with effect from February 2025 or as soon as thereafter.
