With more than 34,000 members across 240+ global chapters, ASIS helps advance security worldwide by providing trusted thought leadership, credentials, events, and community. We empower professionals in every sector-corporate, public sector, academic, and nonprofit-to protect people, property, and information.

The Opportunity

We're looking for a versatile and strategic Communications Manager to join our dynamic team. This high-impact role is responsible for bringing organizational priorities to life through compelling, audience-centered communications. You'll work across departments and directly with our executive leadership to create and deliver consistent, high-quality messaging across channels-from press releases and executive speeches to internal updates and event communications.

This is an ideal opportunity for a communications professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment, knows how to translate leadership vision into action, and brings both strategic insight and polished execution to everything they do.

What You'll Do

  • Cultivate strong relationships with media outlets and journalists. Develop press materials, manage media inquiries, and secure coverage that amplifies our voice and reputation.
  • Draft speeches, presentations, memos, and announcements for C-suite leaders and the Board of Directors. Ensure message alignment across platforms and audiences.
  • Provide comprehensive communications support for the Global Security Exchange (GSX) event, including pre-event promotional messaging, media coordination, speaker promotion, and post-event follow-up.
  • Partner with regional board leaders and volunteers to ensure messaging is consistent, timely, and relevant to local and global stakeholders.
  • Design and execute communication strategies that keep volunteers, organizational stakeholders, and staff informed and engaged.

What We're Looking For

  • Bachelor's degree in communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing, or related field
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a communications or public affairs role
  • Outstanding writing and editing skills-able to tailor tone and message to diverse audiences and formats
  • Demonstrated ability to craft strategic, high-impact content for executive, media, and member audiences
  • Prior experience managing media relations, press outreach, and executive communications
  • Experience supporting events or conferences through content and media planning
  • Previous involvement in crisis communications or reputation management is a plus
  • High attention to detail, excellent project management skills, and the ability to balance multiple priorities
  • Strong collaborator with a proactive, agile mindset and sound judgment under pressure
  • Experience working in an association, nonprofit, public sector, or agency environment is a plus

Why ASIS?

At ASIS, you'll join a mission-driven organization committed to creating a safer world through knowledge sharing and global collaboration. You'll work alongside passionate professionals who care about making a difference and value creativity, agility, and excellence in everything we do.

  • Competitive base salary
  • Comprehensive benefits (medical, dental, vision, life, disability, LTC, and FSA)
  • Robust 401(k) with employer match and additional discretionary contribution
  • Generous PTO, 16 paid holidays, and a healthy work-life balance
  • Fully remote work (U.S.-based) with occasional in-person meetings at HQ
