Job Description

THIS IS AN ON-CALL (AS NEEDED BASIS) POSITION THAT WILL WORK SHIFTS GENERALLY FRIDAYS AND SATURDAYS AND ON FORECASTED BUSY DAYS THAT COINCIDE WITH BASEBALL GAMES & OTHER SPECIAL EVENTS. MUST BE ABLE TO WORK A MINIMUM OF 4 OR MORE SHIFTS PER MONTH. Shifts start as early as 3pm and can end as late as 3am, including weekends and holidays.

This is an on-call position.

This position pays $25.00 per hour.

MUST HAVE A VALID GUARD CARD AND PROPRIETARY PRIVATE SECURITY OFFICER (PPSO) CERTIFICATION*.
*Training will be provided if you do not have a valid certificate upon hiring.

Overview

Responsible for the safety and security of the hotel, including associates, guests, company property, and assets.

Responsibilities

The following are some responsibilities of the position; job descriptions are available upon request or offer.

• Provide basic customer service and courtesies to enhance guest stays.
• Be knowledgeable about the hotel.
• Report defects, shortages of equipment & supplies.
• Assist guests with delivering items, maintenance issues, and other needs.
• Document incidents involving guests and associates.
• Assist guests with information, directions, complaints, or assistance.
• Support other departments with traffic control, crowd control, access to secured areas, escorts, etc.
• Act as Evidence Custodian, ensuring proper handling and secure maintenance of evidence.
• Conduct surveillance for guest and associate safety.
• Regularly patrol the building, grounds, and parking areas, checking doors, windows, and corridors for security.
• Warn violators, apprehend or expel suspicious persons, and occasionally make arrests.
• Assist staff with controlling intoxicated guests.
• Maintain reports and incident/accident logs.
• Report irregularities such as fire hazards or security breaches.
• Sound alarms or contact police/fire services in emergencies.
• Maintain good relationships with law enforcement.
• Handle security keys for sensitive areas.
• Perform inventory of First Aid supplies periodically.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
