Overview Boyer Children's Clinic is currently seeking a Full-Time Medical Billing Specialist . For more information on Boyer Children's Clinic, please visit The Medical Billing Specialist is responsible for ensuring accurate billing and insurance records are produced and maintained for Boyer Children's Clinic. Responsibilities Review and process billing statements, claims, and patient accounts in partnership with our outsourced billing service on a daily basis. Submit electronic claims, verify insurance eligibility, and manage pre-authorizations and benefit verifications. Maintain accurate accounts receivable, process credits/refunds, and manage balances with minimal past-due accounts. Communicate with providers, families, insurers, and internal staff to resolve billing issues and provide support. Identify Medicaid eligibility and support intake and family coordinators with insurance-related guidance. Update billing software with rate changes and assist with documentation of billing processes. Support the Controller with reporting and other related duties as needed. Qualifications Experience & Education Previous experience of two or more years in medical billing is required. Experience with billing Medicaid or MCOs, and experience with insurance portals (e.g. OneHealthPort, Navinet, ProviderOne, Availity, UHCOnline) is preferred. Medical terminology and coding experience is preferred. Educational requirements include a High School Diploma or General Education Degree (G.E.D); an Associate’s Degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school is preferred. Experience in the non-profit sector preferred. Appropriate experience can substitute for educational requirements. Certifications & Licenses No specific license required. Reliable means of transportation for occasional in-person commitments is preferred. Skills & Abilities Proficiency in Microsoft Office and medical billing software (Raintree preferred). Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage time effectively. Problem-solving and analytical skills with a proactive, solution-oriented approach. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal. Ability to work independently and collaboratively with a customer-service mindset. Compensation $27.45 - $37.14 per hour Work Environment, Physical Demands & Travel Requirements The work environment for this position is a combination of remote work (if desired) and onsite at Boyer Montlake. When onsite at Boyer, the environment is a typical office environment. The physical demands for this position require the employee to use computers and sit/stand in an office environment. Travel requirements include the ability to transport oneself to appointments or between offices as necessary, on a daily basis. Must possess a valid Washington State driver’s license and automobile insurance if driving a vehicle.
