What you will be doing at Globalstar

As a Senior Software Engineer (Python) , you will develop new software features in Python for a Satellite scheduling system that optimizes Globalstars ground based systems. This includes hands-on coding, testing, verifying, and maintaining major system features.You will participate in and enhance software processes, including design reviews, code reviews, and continuous integration.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Participate in design and performance optimization workshops for algorithm development and refinement.
• Develop, enhance and maintain high-performance, highly optimized satellite tracking scheduling software.
• Work with team members to design and develop REST APIs to interact with the satellite tracking scheduling software.
• Collaborate on development of internal data visualization dashboards.
• Develop and maintain frameworks for building, unit testing and deployment of pertinent subsystems.
• Write specifications and requirements defining application functions, features, and goals.
• Proactively troubleshoot/debug/resolve application and performance issues.

What you will bring to Globalstar

• Bachelors degree or higher in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a closely related degree
• 5+ years of hands-on post graduate experience with Python and NumPy data structures in a Linux environment
• 3+ year of experience with Relational Databases (Postgres)
• Experience with CI/CD frameworks such as GIT, Bitbucket, and Jenkins
• Knowledge of distributed microservices (Restful APIs)
• Knowledge of AWS or other cloud-based services

Its a bonus if you have:

• Masters degree or higher in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a closely related degree
• 3+ years of experience with Modern C++
• 2+ years of REST API development experience
• Experience with Satellite telemetry systems with an emphasis on scheduling
• Experience deploying containerized software using Docker or Kubernetes
