Job Description

A K-12 school in Jacksonville, NC, is seeking skilled Sign Language Interpreters for multiple 1:1 contract roles throughout the upcoming school year. Assignments will be tailored according to each interpreters experience, offering an opportunity to work closely with students requiring specialized communication support.

Responsibilities:

• Provide clear and accurate sign language interpretation for individual students in classroom and related settings
• Facilitate effective communication between students, teachers, and staff to promote an inclusive learning environment
• Collaborate with educational teams to support individualized education plans and student goals
• Maintain confidentiality and comply with professional and ethical standards at all times

Qualifications:

• Preferred Educational Interpreter Performance Assessment (EIPA) score of 3.5 or above; candidates with other scores will be considered
• Experience interpreting within K-12 educational settings highly desirable
• Strong knowledge of sign language and ability to adapt to varying communication styles
• Commitment to supporting student success and fostering an inclusive environment
