Vicarious is seeking a skilled Video Editor to support one of our agency clients â a fast-moving, creatively driven team based in the Midwest. The ideal candidate is a nimble storyteller who knows how to cut, color, and craft edits that keep audiences engaged across social, digital, and brand channels.
This role is perfect for an editor who thrives in collaborative, agency environments â someone who can take direction, elevate ideas, and deliver polished work that feels fresh and intentional.
Edit short- and long-form videos for campaigns, social media, digital ads, and branded content
Build dynamic edits with strong pacing, rhythm, and storytelling clarity
Integrate motion graphics, titles, and sound design where appropriate
Color-correct, mix, and prepare final deliverables for multiple platforms and aspect ratios
Collaborate with creative directors, producers, and motion designers to bring ideas to life
Manage multiple edits at once, staying organized and communicative under fast-paced timelines
3â5 years of professional video editing experience (agency, production company, or brand environment preferred)
Mastery of Adobe Premiere Pro; proficiency with After Effects, Audition, and DaVinci Resolve is a plus
Strong eye for visual rhythm, music sync, and emotional storytelling
Experience editing for social-first formats (Instagram Reels, TikTok, YouTube Shorts)
Familiarity with modern codecs, export formats, and cloud-based review tools (Frame.io, Wipster, etc.)
Ability to work autonomously and meet deadlines in a remote environment
Motion design or animation skills
Experience with short-form social content and UGC-style edits
Comfort working with creative briefs, brand guidelines, and campaign timelines
Fast, flexible, and creative under pressure
A collaborator who communicates clearly and professionally
A problem solver who can elevate footage through smart editing and strong storytelling
Someone who takes pride in polish, pacing, and narrative energy
Rate: $45â$65/hour depending on experience and scope
Commitment: ~10â20 hours per week, with potential for ongoing or expanded collaboration
