Job Title: Wastewater Treatment Operator

Job Description

We are seeking a full-time Plant Operator for an operations project in Canton, OH. The Plant Operator performs a wide range of mid-complex to complex tasks, encompassing field assignments based on client requirements.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily operations and maintenance of the treatment plant.
• Complete minor routine maintenance of equipment.
• Demonstrate good interpersonal skills.
• Apply a working knowledge of fundamental principles, terminology, and methodology in carrying out assignments.
• Operate facilities with computer or PLC controls.
• Monitor, regulate, and adjust chlorinators, chemical feed pumps, and other process equipment.
• Collect samples and perform routine in-lab tests as required.
• Maintain a log of operations and maintenance activities and related records.
• Operate system to maintain compliance with permit requirements.
• Wash clarifiers, dissolved air flotation systems, contact basins, and operate sludge handling equipment and other process unit equipment, as required.
• Possess good knowledge of the practices used, and the equipment required in the O&M of industrial facilities and make routine laboratory and field tests for control of plant operations.
• Possibly operate a variety of equipment such as forklifts, aerial or scissor lifts, generators, compressors, pumps, etc.
• Participate actively in creating a safety culture at the job site.
• Adhere to the policies and standards set forth in the Firm’s Project Delivery Manual (PDM), Employee Manual, and Corporate Health & Safety Manual.

Essential Skills

• High School Diploma / Vocational training or equivalent.
• Applicable health & safety training.
• Typically 5+ years of experience.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office.
• Wastewater operator licenses preferred.
• Valid driver's license.
• Ability to perform basic control laboratory testing and understand and apply results.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $30.00/hr.
