Responsibilities Performs professional aerospace engineering work in aviation, aerospace defense systems, components, and associated equipment in support of the acquisition, development, and sustainment of weapon systems and subsystems. Plans and carries out assignments for projects concerning Satellite Systems Management, Operations and Ground System Support, managing multiple factors, engaging other engineering specializations, and considering lifecycle of items/systems. Employs scientific and engineering principles to design, develop, test, evaluate, and determine maintenance requirements; establishes requirements for technical objectives and devises and evaluates design concepts. Performs analysis and uses systematic, disciplined, quantifiable approaches to implement, develop, and document projects or tasks; evaluates procedures and recommends innovative techniques and methods; develops evaluations and technical justifications for engineering reviews/panels. In support of engineering reviews and/or panels, develops evaluations and technical justifications of feasibility, practicability, and technical soundness; recognizes priorities and urgency, develops metrics and performs analysis to ascertain needed changes or modifications. Determines business and technical needs of customers; applies emerging technology and business practices to develop course of action, validate and direct resources, integrate logistics and acquisition functions. Prepares reports and conducts technical presentations for planning, implementation, and corrective action; provides status and advisory services to superiors; reports significant findings and recommendations to management in a timely manner.
